Certificate in Warden Core Training

Core Warden Training Programme - NCFE Accredited Programme

The Warden’s Core Training Programme is suitable for new wardens as part of their induction training, and for more experienced wardens who would like to gain a certificate

Aims: To provide wardens and caretakers with the skills and knowledge they need to enable them to work effectively in the community. The programme is made up of a number of modules, relevant to the warden’s role. These are:

   
Basic Drug Awareness    Health and Safety for Wardens
Boundaries and Roles    Information Management
Clean and Safe    Marketing and Publicity
Communications    Partnership Working
Community Cohesion    Problem Solving
Community Development    Working with Younger People
Conflict Management    Working With Older People
Customer Care  

Suitable for: Neighbourhood and Street Wardens, Community Caretakers, Housing Caretakers.

Learning methods: Classroom, group discussions, interactive exercises, video.

Duration: Five days (the training can be spread over a longer period, rather than run over 5 consecutive days)

Cost: If you have more than 12 members of staff to train, we can deliver this training course in-house at a venue to suit you. In house training can significantly reduce your costs, reducing travel time and accommodation expenses.

If you are hosting this training programme, you will need to provide:
A suitable training room for course duration
Refreshments including lunches
Trainer travel expenses
(and accommodation if applicable)

Community Safety Accredited Persons Training

This is a 10 day programme covering the warden core training modules, with an additional 5 day Accredited Person Training Programme. If your scheme or organisation is accredited by CSAS, then you will become an accredited person on successful completion of this training.

The CSAS training comprise the following modules:

The aims and objectives of accreditation    Community Safety Accreditation    Scheme – Reasons
Responsibilities and personal attributes of Accredited Persons    APs and their employers
Other agencies  

Reporting and Recording

Need for accuracy: describing individuals, conditions and logbook    How to apply detail and range when    reporting and recording evidence
Identifying and describing evidence    Legal issues in producing evidence
Composing statements  

Legislation

Powers of enforcement    Limitations
Offences against designated and accredited persons    Balancing enforcement with the role    of community enabler

Manage Initial Crime or Incident Scene

Clear    Cordon
Bomb threats    Post incidents

Park Ranger Training

Aim: Training is available for some or all of the modules, depending on the needs of the individual and their scheme.

This training aims to give delegates the skills they need to work within the community to ensure the park facilities meet the needs of its users.

Topics covered include:

Clean and Safe for Parks    Law and By-Law Enforcement
Communication    Marketing
Community Development    Presentation Skills
Conflict Management    Risk Assessment
Customer Care    Working with Volunteers
Event Management  

Suitable for: Park Rangers, Wardens, Park Keepers and Beach Wardens

Learning Methods: Classroom, Group Discussion, Interactive Exercises

Duration: 5 days. This programme can be run over a number of weeks, rather than 5 consecutive days.

Cost: If you have more than 12 members of staff to train, we can deliver this training course in-house at a venue to suit you. In house training can significantly reduce your costs, reducing travel time and accommodation expenses.

A suitable training room for course duration
Refreshments including lunches
Trainer travel expenses (and accommodation if applicable)

City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Conflict Management – Qualification 1884

Aims: To arm delegates with the knowledge and skills they need when dealing with a situation where customers or members of the public become aggressive or even violent.  This training programme which is accredited by City & Guilds will help you recognise when a situation is becoming confrontational and take steps to diffuse and calm the situation.

Suitable for: Anyone who may encounter such situations in the workplace, such as those working in the security, care, transport, health or education sectors.

Learning Methods: Classroom, group discussions, practical sessions. Final test to gain qualification.

Duration: Two days

Non-accredited Conflict Management training can also be provided over one or two days. There will be no final test for this training as it does not lead to a qualification.
